2023 SMXC SUMMER     KICKOFF PARTY

2023 Guest Speaker- Michael Keehan- 

UPenn 2023 XC/Track Graduate

UPenn graduate and former Salesianum standout Michael Keehan will speak at this year's SMXC Summer Kickoff Party. Michael recently became a member of the collegiate sub-4 club when he clocked a 3:59.73 this spring. He is also a USATF Nationals qualifier in the 3000M Steeplechase, where he is currently ranked 25th in the nation with a time of 8:36.79

2022 Guest Speaker- Andrew Avila- Harvard University XC/Track Runner- Formerly at Charter 

Harvard rising Sophomore and Charter School of Wilmington standout  Andrew Avila will speak at this year's SMXC Summer Kickoff Party. Andrew was the top runner on the 2019 state championship Charter School XC program. He holds personal bests of 15:24 for 5000M and 9:06 for 3200M.

Kieran Tuntivate spoke  at the 2018 SMXC Summer Kickoff Party. Kieran competed for Charter School of Wilmington and currently runs for Harvard University.

• #1 ranked outdoor 1600M runner in state history (4:10.13 set in June 2015 at West Chester Henderson)

• #1 ranked indoor 1600M runner in state history (4:14.95 set in Jan 2015 at the Milrose Games at the Armory)

• #5 ranked 3200M runners in state history (9:06.30- set April 2015 in Arcadia, California.)

• HS 5K XC PR  15:08- Set at NXN Southeast Regional, Cary NC, 2014

2017- Alyssa Rudawski- Competed for Garnett Valley and former varsity captain of the NC State Wolfpack XC and Track & Field program. 

• NC State finished 4th in the country at NCAAs in 2016 and were ACC Champions

• Alyssa was the team’s #3 runner at ACCs and their #4 runner at NCAA Nationals

• She has a personal 5K PR of 16:26 on the track.

2014- Steve Sinko-  1994 Graduate- School record holder in 800M. Former state record holder in 800M. Member of 1993 XC state championship team. Founder of Fusion Inclusion. Competed for UNC Wilmington and University of Delaware. Currently head coach of Newark Charter. 

2013- Greg Morrin- 2009 Graduate- 15:35 5K #1 in school history. Undefeated 10-0 in Delaware in 2008 season. Member of 2007 state champion team.  Competed for Villanova University 

2012- Maureen Stringham- 2007 Graduate- 19:16 5K #7 all time. Member of 2006 State Champion team (4th place) Competed for Arizona State and Connecticut

2010- Cassie White -2007 Graduate- 18:59 5K #3 all time. Member of 20016 State Championship team (3rd place overall) Competed for Syracuse University
