Boys Finish 2nd at States!!
The Saint Mark's Boys' Track & Field team finished 2nd overall at the DIAA State Meet in Division II
Girls finish 12th

Congratulations to the Boys' Track & Field team for their runner-up finish at the Delaware State meet on Monday and Tuesday! The boys fought hard all meet vs AI duPont for the team title, but came up just short in landing 2nd place. This is the first runner-up finish for Saint Mark's since 2008, and only the second top-2 finish in school history.
The boys were led by Senior Matt Tynes, who became the Delaware State Champion in both the Long Jump and the Triple Jump! This double win has never been completed in school history. Senior Matt McGuirk finished 2nd overall in the discus. Sophomore Zion Glover finished 2nd in the 100M, 3rd in the 4x200M Relay, 4th in the 200M, and 4th in the 4x100M relay to score big points for the team. The 3rd-place 4x200M team consisted of Blaec Sanders, Gabe Wedgewood, Matt Tynes, and Zion Glover; and the 4x100M team consisted of Blaec Sanders, Gabe Wedgewood, John Catalano, and Zion Glover. The 4x800M team picked up a solid 4th-place finish on Day 1, led by Robert Vadnais, Jack Daly, Luke Harrington, and Mike Ranegan. Senior Robby Stofa picked up a 5th both the shot put and the discus! The team combined for 75 points!
The girls finished 12th overall, and were led by Gianna Corbett's 2nd-place finish in the high jump! The 4x800M team of Lauren Augustynowicz, Sarah Donaldson, Erin Dacey, and Kacey Tramont finished 3rd overall to earn a spot in the Meet of Champions on Friday night!

Tynes breaks school record in triple Jump with win!
Corbett 2X All County in High Jump and Long Jump
Matt Tynes broke a 45-year-old Triple Jump record set by All Pro Steve Watson. Tynes took first overall in the event to earn All County! Gianna Corbett cleared 5-0 in the high jump and 16-6 in the long jump to finish 3rd and 2nd respectively to earn All County! Patrick Palm improved on his pole vault school record to clear 9-0 to finish 9th overall!

Tiger Field and Track Relays
Boys and Girls both finish 2nd overall at the Tiger Invitational
Both the boys' and girls' track & field teams kicked off the season with 2nd place finishes overall at the AI Tiger Invitational on Saturday. In a total team efffort, the Spartans combined for 8 first-place finishes and 6 seconds-place finishes.
The girls were led by Gianna Corbett, who qualified for states in winning the high jump in 5'0" and finishing 2nd overall in the long jump in 15'10". The girl's 4 x 1-mile team of Ana Dacey, Cameron Johnson, Lauren Augustynowicz, and Sarah Donaldson finished 1st overall in 23:39. The girls also took first in the dis
tance medley relay, with a team of Johnson, Augustynowicz, Sidney Manal, and Ana Dacey. They also won the sprint medley relay with the team of Corbett, Amy Day, Jill Boffa, and Donaldson.
The boys 4 x 1-mile team of Connor Hessler, Luke Harrington, Mike Ranegan, and Jack Vito also took the victory in 20:09. The 4x200M team of Blaec Sanders, Kyle Poppiti, Gabe Wedgewood, and Zion Glover won first overall in 1:37. The boys also won the shot put relay, led by Matt McGuirk and Sal Vasquez.
