Girls finish season 6th at Delaware State Championship!!
Brandywine Creek State Park, Wilmington, DE
The girls' cross country team finished 6th out of 32 schools at the DIAA State meet at Brandywine Creek State Park. Junior Ana Dacey led the team with a 24th-place finish overall! Freshman Sarah Donaldson finished 38th overall, with junior Lauren Augustynowicz just behind in 40th. Kacey Tramont ran to 45th place, and senior Isabella Hanrahn rounded out top 5 in 60th place. Maggie Myers and Madison Sycalik also competed well for the team, coming in 71st and 75th respectively. Congratulations on a very successful season!
Girls finish 7th at New Castle County Championship
Winterthur Estate, Greenville, DE
The XC team finished 7th out of 27 schools at the New Castle County Championships on Saturday at Winterthur Estates. The team was just two points shy of cracking the top 5! Ana Dacey and Sarah Donaldson led the way by finishing in 37th and 39th overall!

Catholic Conference Championship
The SMXC girls broke from the green and yellow tradition at Catholic Conferences by wearing pink in honor of Lauren's mother who is currently battling breast cancer. She has been making it out to our races throughout the season, and it's great to see her continuing to support the team through her fight! We will continue to rally around Mrs. Augustynowicz this season!!
The girls finished 3rd after a very close race against Padua, Ursuline, and St. Elizabeth's. The JV finished 2nd overall! Many girls ran season and lifetime bests.

Varsity 7th, JV 6th with 23 out of 23 PRs for the season!
The varsity finished 7th overall out of 36 schools at the Joe O'Neill Invite. They were 1 point away from #4 ranked DMA. Sarah Donaldson led the way with a 32nd place finish in 20:50. Ana Dacey finished in 42nd place with a new PR of 21:10. Lauren Augustynowicz finished 52nd, also in a new PR of 21:35. Kacey Tramont came in 10 spots later in 62nd, also with a new PR of 21:45. Cameron Johnson rounded out the top five with a season PR of 22:30. Madison Sycalik had a huge breakout race, running a PR by over 1 minute to run 22:40. Maggie Myers PRd as well to finish in 23:20!
In the JV race, the girls finished 6th in the state out of 36 schools. Isabella Hanrahan finished first for the team in a season best time of 23:38. Jillian Boffa also came back with a new PR of 24:08. Ally Walls ran a season-best time of 24:23.
Overall, the girls finished with 23 out of 23 girls running season PRs!

Girls Combine for 22 Season Bests at Six Flags
The girls combined to set 22 Season bests on Saturday at the Six Flags Invite. Ana Dacey led the way with a 23rd place finish. Her time of 21:17 is a new personal best, and is the 10th fastest time in school history! It was the 3rd fastest junior time in school history. Lauren Augustynwowicz and Kacey Tramont had great races, finishing 37th and 38th. Cameron Johnson, Maggie Myers, and Madison Sycalik also had strong performances to help the team. Isabella Hanrahan led all runners in the JV race, and Cathryn Guidash had the fastest time on the day in the freshmen race.

Saint Mark's 21- Archmere 35
The 4th ranked girls' XC squad defeated Archmere on Tuesday at White Clay by a score of 21-35. Sarah Donaldson finished 1st overall in the race, clocking a time of 21:45 over 5K. Maureen Kirk, Lauren Augustynowicz, and Ana Dacey finished 3rd, 4th, and 5th respectively, packing up together to outrun the Archmere field. Sophomore Kacey Tramont rounded out the top 5, and Cameron Johnson and Madison Sycalik finished in 6th and 7th to place for the team. The girls also achieved the team goal of having every runner complete the 5K course! Great work, SMXC!!
GIRLS TIE FOR 3RD AT
WHITE CLAY CREEK CLASSIC
The girls finished tied for 3rd at the White Clay Creek Classic. Freshmen Sarah Donaldson took first overall in he race, finishing with a time of 21:11. She tied Analise Kaminski for the 4th fastest freshman time in school history, and the #12 fastest time in school history! Maureen Kirk finished 5th overall in 22:29. Jillian Boffa finished 14th in 24:11. In thee sophomore race, Kacey Tramont finished 13th overall in 23:15. Junior Ana Dacey finished 11th in the race with a time of 22:57. Lauren Augustynowicz ran to 18th overall in the junior race to score for the team!
CHEROKEE CHALLENGE
SMXC kicked off the season at the Cherokee Challenge in Marlton, NJ. In the freshmen race, Sarah Donaldson kicked off the day with a 5th place finish and a new freshmen record. Her time is #3 i
n school history. Maureen Kirk finished 29th overall to medal! Kacey Tramont finished 43rd overall in a strong performance. Ana Daey and Lauren Augustynowicz finished 58th and 60th overall to lead the juniors, and senior Madison Sycalik led the team by finishing 103rd overall.

FALL XC RACE SCHEDULE
The fall XC schedule is under the cross country tab at the top of the page. This season we are returning to two familiar meets. The 2-mile Cherokee Challenge will be our first meet of the season, followed by the White Clay Creek Classic. We will again head to Six Flags and Manhattan before the "Championship" meets later in the fall. It looks to be another exciting racing season for the Spartans!

GIRLS RUN AT HOME FOR FIRST TIME IN 22 YEARS!
The girls competed against Ursuline in a 3000-meter scrimmage at Saint Mark's. The team put seven runners in the top ten, with Sarah Donaldson, Maureen Kirk, and Ana Dacey taking the top three spots, respectively! Kacey Tramont, Lauren Augustynowicz, Isabella Hanrahan, and Jillian Boffa all finished in the top 10 overall for the Spartans! The team kicks off the season next Saturday at the Nike Cherokee Challenge. See below for more information.
