Boys 4th, Girls 11th at New Castle Counties
The boys were 4th overall and 1st out of D2 schools at the New Castle County Championships. The boys kicked it off on Friday by winning the 4x800M relay in 7:52.30. That time is just off the school record of 7:51.9. The team of Paskevicius, Wrinn, Brooks, and Jurgaitis ran their fastest time of the season. Jurgaitis closed in an impressive 1:52 on Thursday. He came back Saturday to finish 2nd in the 1600M in 4:13.93 and 2nd in the 800M in 1:53.50. The 1600M is a new school record by 4 seconds! The 800 is #2 in school history.
The 4x400M team finished 3rd overall to also earn All-County honors. The team of Charles Davis, Tyler Hankins, Chase Davis, and Grant Thompson ran 3:26! Charles Davis also finished 2nd overall in the 300M hurdles.
The girls were led by Sophia Montee's 3rd place finish in the triple jump. Macy Pritt finished 4th in the discus and Gia Pelluzzi finished 4th in the high jump.
The team comes returns Friday and Saturday for the DIAA State Championship in Dover where the boys look to win their 3rd straight championship and the girls look for their 6th staight top 2 finish.
