Boys Finish 6th + Girls 10th at DIAA Indoor Track and Field State Championship
The teams competed Saturday at U Penn the 2026 Indoor Track and Field Championship, and came away with one individual champion, two runner-up finishes, and 4 school records!
Kiara Davis led the way by winning the long jump for the second consecutive year. Her jump of 18-2.5 is just 3 inches shy of her school record. Eli Burke ran 6.43 in the 55M dash to break Zion Glover's record of 6.50 from 2020. He went on to lower his own record in the 200M at 21.94. He finished 5th in both events, along with a 4th-place finish in the shot put. Charles Davis ran 7.99 in the 55M Hurdles to break his own school record!
The girl's 4x400M finished 6th overall and broke the school record by just one tenth of a second with a run of 4:13.56. The team of Tessa Palm, Kiara Davis, Sadie Trumbull. and Olivia Hardy broke the record which stood since 2010!
Both 4x800M relay teams finished 2nd overall and had amazing races in the process. The girls' team of Olivia Hardy, Sadie Trumbull. Tessa Palm, and Mari Cantoran led the race until the final lap, coming in with a 10:04.1. That is the 3rd fastest time in school history, and the team's highest ever finish at the state meet. The boys' team of Abner Murillo, Connor Wrinn, Evan Paskevicius, and Alec Jurgaitis ran an exhilerating race, finishing just .21 away from the win. They ran a gutsy race to try to pull off the victory.
